Call for JSGW Associate Editor
Calling all Groupies!
The Journal for Specialists in Group Work (JSGW) is now accepting nominations for Associate Editor. The JSGW is sponsored by the Association for Specialists in Group Work, a branch of the American Counseling Association, and is an important resource for both practitioners and educators working with groups in clinical, organizational, educational, and community settings.
The incoming Associate Editor will begin a three-year term starting August 1, 2025. Qualifications include an academic rank of Associate or Full Professor, scholarship in group work, and experience as an editorial board member. The new Associate Editor will work with the current editorial staff on all operations of JSGW, particularly coordinating and reviewing contributions to the journal.
Interested applicants should submit a current curriculum vitae and cover letter addressing the above-mentioned qualifications to the JSGW Editor, Dr. Jane Okech at JSGWEditor@gmail.com. Finalists for the position may be asked to review a manuscript in order to assess their potential to review scholarly submissions about group work.
The priority deadline for applications is June 15, 2025; applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
JSGW uses the ScholarOne Manuscripts online submission system for managing manuscripts. Inquiries related to the duties of the Associate Editor may also be directed to Dr. Okech. Selection of the incoming Associate Editor will be made in consultation with the ASGW board.
