THE VICKI E. BOWMAN OUTSTANDING GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

 

The Vicki E. Bowman is named after an extraordinary young woman of great character, wisdom, integrity, and energy whose courage inspired us all to be the best teachers and group workers we can be. The scholarship will honor an outstanding graduate student who is active in the study and practice of group work who also demonstrates leadership and support roles among fellow graduate students.

 

The scholarship will be announced each year at the Association for Specialists in Group Work luncheon at the American Counseling Association Conference. The recipient of the scholarship will receive a stipend of $250, a plaque, and a year's membership in ASGW. Applicants may be nominated by a faculty member or fellow graduate student or may nominate themselves. A letter of application should be received by Dr. Janice L. DeLucia-Waack, Scholarship fund, 403 Baldy Hall, SUNY Buffalo, Buffalo, NY 14260, FAX: 716-645-6616, or jdelucia@buffalo.edu  no later than December 1st to be considered for the scholarship that will be announced at the next annual ACA Conference. The letter of application should address the nominees' interest in group work; his or her support and leadership activities among fellow graduate students; and his or her potential for success as a group worker.
