The ASGW WEBPAGE was established to provide a resource base for teachers, students, and practitioners of group work. The ASGW WEBPAGE includes both organizational information (e.g., the purpose of the organization, its structure, and its calendar of events) and professional resources (e.g., ASGW products, ASGW institutes, and links to other WebPages of interest to group workers).
This webpage represents a starting point for an interactive community that could link interested group work professionals. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. Please post your comments in the feedback form.
The ASGW site originated with the efforts of Dr. F. Robert Wilson and was housed at the University of Cincinnati from its launch in 1996 until the appointment of Dr. Marty Jencius as webmaster and the website's relocation at Columbus State University on January 1, 1999. Following Dr. Jencius change of university affiliation, the website was moved to Kent State University in July of 2000. Much of Dr. Wilson's original content was used in the development of the current site and we would be at a loss without his pioneering efforts and hard work.
In April 2003, with the effort of Dr. Rod Merta at New Mexico State University the site got its own domain name www.asgw.org and was hosted by the College of Education at New Mexico State University. Many new features have been added to the website. In June 2004, the website was moved to the University of Arizona, with Sheri Bauman as webmaster.
